Hypocenter

West Coast-Style IPA - 6.2% ABV

This West Coast–style IPA is bursting with classic piney, resinous Chinook hops up front, followed by dank citrus notes from a hefty dose of Simcoe and Centennial. Light caramel malt balances it all out, keeping things crisp, clean, and smooth. Bold, bright, and unmistakably West Coast—this one’s a sip straight into the California dream. The “hypocenter” is the focus-- or ground zero-- of an earthquake.

On Macleod 9

Scottish Ale - 5.9% ABV

A full-bodied amber ale with layered malt complexity. Notes of light caramel, toasted bread, toffee, and subtle stone fruit lead into a gently sweet finish balanced by a soft toastiness. Anna Macleod was a professor at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, and the world's first female Professor of Brewing and Biochemistry.

Protein Sequence

Hazy IPA - 7.2% ABV

Cloudy with a chance of hops! This fruity hazy IPA delivers flavors of citrus, mango, peach, and passionfruit and a silky mouthfeel. Protein sequencing determines a protein’s functions; in 2024, David Baker, Demis Hassabis and John Jumper earned a Nobel Prize for their work in this field.

Skullface Transfusion

Coconut Porter - 5.1% ABV

Smooth and dark, this English-style porter provides a rich, malty backbone and creamy mouthfeel. Balanced with moderate bitterness and kissed with coconut for a subtle roasty sweetness. Our name for this beer is a combination of the Portuguese and Spanish for "ghost," or "scarecrow," likely referencing the face-like appearance of the husk's three germinating pores; and the fact that during WWII, medics in the Pacific theatre purportedly used coconut water as a replacement for scant supplies of blood plasma.

Project Beans

Cream Ale with Coffee Infusion - 5.5% ABV

Project Beans is a smooth cream ale steeped with medium-roast Guatemalan coffee beans and infused with toasted marshmallow. It delivers a big coffee aroma and bold, upfront flavor, finishing soft and creamy with toasted vanilla notes reminiscent of your favorite morning drink. Brewed in collaboration with Black Dog Coffee Project Beans gives back: $1 from every pint sold is donated to the Cass County Humane Society.

Tropical Zone

Milkshake IPA - 6.5% ABV

This full-bodied, balanced Milkshake IPA bursts with bright notes of passion fruit, orange, and guava, rounded out with a touch of lactose sugar for a smooth, creamy finish. Dry-hopped with Citra, Mosaic, and Mandarina Bavaria hops, it’s sunshine in a glass — even if the weather says otherwise. Your taste buds will swear they’re beachside! The tropical zone, or the tropics, is Earth's region around the equator, roughly between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, defined by receiving the most direct sunlight year-round.

Superfluid Dark Matter

Dunkelweizen - 5.4% ABV

This beer balances rich notes of clove, banana, and bubblegum, followed by a soft wheat character and subtle bites of sweet chocolate. Smooth, medium-bodied, and out of this world. Superfluid dark matter (SDM) is a theoretical framework where dark matter particles, at extremely low temperatures and high densities, condense into a quantum fluid lacking viscosity, providing a unified explanation for both galactic-scale observations and large-scale cosmic structure.

Talking with Planets

English-Style Barleywine - 9.2% 37 IBUs

Bold and beautifully complex, this deep-malt barleywine layers caramel, brown sugar, raisin, and plum notes into a rich, full-bodied sip. It finishes with a subtle vinous, grape-like character that lingers like a conversation with the cosmos. "Talking with Planets" is a short, influential 1901 essay by Nikola Tesla, where he described receiving mysterious, rhythmic signals he believed were from intelligent extraterrestrial life on Mars or Venus, and outlined his theories on how humanity could achieve interplanetary communication through wireless technology.

Hello, von Neumann...

Maibock - 7% ABV

A classic German Maibock, this clean, crisp lager carries a rich malty backbone balanced by subtle floral notes from noble hops.it’s smooth, slightly sweet, and dangerously easy-drinking for its strength. Perhaps best known for his work in the early development of computers, John von Neumann also made important contributions in the fields of mathematical logic, the foundations of quantum mechanics, economics, and game theory.

Blame it on (the) Basařová

Bohemian Pilsner - 4.2% ABV

Dating back to 1842, Bohemian-style pilsners are darker in color than their German counterparts, and impart a slightly sweet and toasted, biscuit-like, bready malt character, and a touch of hop bitterness. Our version is an homage to Gabriela Basařová, a Czech professor of chemistry, working in the field of fermentation chemistry, brewing, and malting, with a mash-up of the 1963 Eydie Gorme' song, "Blame it on the Boss Nova".

Zalapa's Christmas Vacation

Smoothie Sour - 5.8% ABV

Cranberry, Orange, and Vanilla smoothie sour-- a perfect complement to the Holiday (or ANY) season! 6% ABV This brew is named after Dr. Juan Zalapa, who leads a team at the University of Wisconsin whose research focuses on cranberries-- breeding, genetics, and genomics.

Hawaii 2.0

Smoothie Sour - 6.3%

A creamy, thick tropical delight, bursting with pineapple, marshmallow and vanilla. 6.3% ABV Cody Moon’s original version of this was called Hawaiian Whiptide, inspired by his love of the drink at a certain Florida theme park. Our Head Brewer Alex Pease has fine-tuned Hawaii 2.0 into a tropical vacation...in a glass!

Hop Rocket

IPA - 6.8% ABV

Our flagship IPA, brewed using Brewers 2 Row malt and Pilsen Malt with a splash of Carapils. Bravo hops are used for the initial bittering charge, and Citra and Mosaic hops are used throughout, including a large dry hop. The mural on the front of our building is based on an original drawing by Hayley Tabb, and painted by a team led by Sienna Urbina, including Abby Carman, Carrie Hayden and Kelci McKay

Brennan's Torpedo

Irish Stout - 4.5% ABV 20 IBU

Rich, roasted Irish stout, with coffee and chocolate undertones The Brennan torpedo was patented by Irish-born Australian inventor Louis Brennan in 1877; it was propelled by two contra-rotating propellers, and was launched from harbors as a defensive weapon.

Grab the Brass Ring

Cream Ale - 5%, 13 IBU

Produced using a blend of Pilsner, 2 row, flaked corn, and barley with a splash of Sterling hops, this cream ale is an easy drinker-- light bodied and having a flavor profile to match the malts used. Another addition to our Logansport Beer Series, Grab the Brass Ring gives tribute to the Cass County Carousel and its lifelong tradition of grabbing a brass ring to earn a free ride.
